There is a war going on! I'm not talking about the Iraqi conflicts. The war that I speak of is not even of human origin. The war that I speak of is not of flesh and blood. This war doesn't even require conventional weapons; it doesn't require conventional body armor; nor does it require conventional strategy. This war does not even require human technology or human science. This war cannot be won with words, human wisdom, or political strategy.
I'm certain that if you have been in the church for any length of time at all, you have already discerned that the war I speak of is a spiritual war. It is sometimes referred to as the war of Armageddon. It is the war against the spirit and the flesh, righteousness and unrighteousness, good and evil.
This war stars in earnest after one becomes a Christian and pledges his will to God through his acceptance and baptism into Jesus Christ. The unique thing about this war is of course its conventional nature. It is fought with faith, truth, righteousness, and love as the chief weapons of warfare. The most unique thing about this war is the fact that the battle has already been fought and won. Yes! The victory has been assured by the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. "Let us grow weary in well doing, for in due season we shall reap if we faint not."
