Purpose: Help each student to earnestly defend the faith, to expose God's redemptive plan to the lost and to grow faithfully each day in the person of Jesus Christ. Our aim is not merely to make disciples but to raise effective 'disciple-makers.'
Sugar Creek Church of Christ provides a Disciple Maker's Academy designed to equip the local congregation to effectively fulfill the great commission of Jesus Christ. A disciple maker is a laborer who is committed to becoming more like Jesus and who strives to make every effort to influence the world around them for Christ. The academy consists of two 6-month rolling semesters. The courses are on Disciple Making and Principles of Hermeneutics (how to study the bible).

Sugar Creek Church of Christ makes every effort to be the light and salt of our community. We strive to model the love of Christ by meeting the needs of the broken and wounded of the Charlotte metro-area. By providing a 'whole-istic' presence in the community we act as a bridge to connect the resources of God's people with the various needs that exist in our community. Ultimate success in the community is measured by those who are empowered, enriched and exposed to the gospel of Christ.
